For 2017 it is my intention to move a lot of my stuff around.
Normally I’d have put this on my main website but I want to make a change there.
I feel that if I show music stuff then I’m only considered for that type of work.
Or more accurately, NOT considered for other things.
This time around at Celtic Connections I wasn’t able to do as much as previous years.
Also, we weren’t allowed to shoot the opening concert due to the BBC taking up all the space.
There are quite a few times in my career that I’ve been punted out of the way to accommodate the BBC and I find it really unfair.
And while I’m on that one, I find the media coverage of this festival in Scotland to be poor.
You’d be forgiven if you didn’t know it was happening.
What’s the point in having a press office and media passes if the actual media here aren’t interested?
That’s also really annoying because this is wonderful.
The line up this year was less glossy and yet had some more traditional offerings, some interesting looking collaborations and a run of most of the finest indepenedent bands to come out of Scotland in the last 10-15 years.
I caught 2 of these as photographer. Went to some as a fan too.
The Yummy Fur & Spread Eagle.
C Duncan, Man of Moon and Andrew Wasylyk.
